Annie Duke mightn’t have attained her first WSOP Bracelet until 2004 but Annie is one of the most feared poker players around the ring matches at The Bellagio in Sin City. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP win came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While players from the "younger generation" of poker go crazy after a big success at the tables, Annie heads home to be "mommy" to her four kids. She hails from NH and was raised into a family of poker players. If you don’t believe that, watch her sibling, Howard Lederer, when he plays, who taught her the best method to play poker.
However, Annie Duke is not a small fry kind of girl and has earned her share of difficult matches, which includes knocking out Howard along the way on several occasions.
Earning over 3 million dollars in tournament action, Annie branched out to become a consultant to both UltimateBet and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wished to build up his skills and become a force at the poker table.
You might just observe her at the Bellagio, you will see her on television and you might just even play with her in an online poker match, but do not bank on an easy win. Unless you are a rising star, you will not beat her. However, it would be fun to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
