Have you seen the new PokerPro texas holdem poker tables? The first time I saw the PokerPro tables was about 2 weeks ago when I took a quick getaway with my mom to the WinStar Gambling house in Oklahoma.
As I waited for my name to be summoned at the live tables, I noticed how the other folks around the PokerPro tables relate with each other. It was very intriguing to say the very least. Because the poker table was controlled by a computer, there were no clay poker chips to do any chip tips, no cards to shuffle and the real live experience was stale. Maybe I was the only one that recognized this, but I did observe the players at the table had a lifeless quality to them. The cause of this might be since there was no human conversation with the croupier, the environment was rather dull and the gamblers looked tired. It was almost as if I was looking at a live variant of a web-based hold’em poker room rather than being seated with warm bodied humans. It was a little spooky and I continued to have flash backs to a show of Star trek and the holodeck malfunctioned.
Since the waiting time for the stay tables was over an hour, I decided to observe how the game action was and to encounter this new holdem poker gaming technology. Right after betting a few hands, I actually felt like I was betting at home. The lack of activity on the table was the primary reason. I prefer to shuffle and stack my chips, and mix my cards about. None of those items are feasible at these electronic tables.
One more thing I noticed was how the computer dealt the flop, turn and river cards. I wagered a great deal of hands in the PokerPro table and discovered that the wager on was a whole lot like an online hold’em poker website. That could have been just a coincidence, except I found it to be really odd.
After betting a few rounds with this "unique holdem poker technology", I determined that the PokerPro tables have been not for me. I’m better off playing texas hold’em poker on the web at home and not travel the distance. If WinStar Gambling house were to obtain rid of the are living poker tables, I think they’d loose a good deal of gamblers.
