Poker has become world acclaimed as of late, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its television scores. Over the years numerous variants on the first poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to 21 than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the bank rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no bluffing or different types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the dealer broadcasting "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the house and of course all of the different gamblers attain 5 cards. Once you have observed your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you need to in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call bet’s value is on same level to your original ante, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your wager goes instantaneously to the house. After the bet is the showdown. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, with an amount on par with the ante. If the casino does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The dealer pony’s up chips equal to your wager and fixed expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- two to one for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
