Online poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its television scores. Over the years numerous variations on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to twenty-one than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the casino rather than each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little bluffing or different kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the dealer announcing "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course all of the other gamblers receive 5 cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the casino’s initial card, you have to in turn make a call bet or surrender. The call bet’s value is on same level to your original ante, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your bet goes instantly to the casino. After the wager comes the showdown. If the house does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, with an amount equal to the ante. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The house pony’s up chips equal to your initial bet and fixed odds on your call bet. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
