Internet poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit further than its television scores. Over the years several variations on the original poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling 21 than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no concealment or different types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the dealer broadcasting "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the house and of course every one of the other players are given 5 cards each. After you have observed your hand and the dealer’s first card, you must in turn make a call wager or bow out. The call bet’s amount is on same level to your beginning ante, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your wager goes directly to the casino. After the bet comes the face off. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, plus a figure on par with the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the bank’s hand. The house pays money even with your bet and controlled expectations on your call bet. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- two to one for 2 pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
